With over 20 years of experience in the beauty industry, Porsche Waldo has established herself as a premier hair stylist in New York City. Hailing from Virginia, Porsche developed her styling technique in the Tidewater area until she was ready to bring her craft to a larger market. Once in NYC, Porsche’s outgoing personality and keen sense of style quickly garnered her a robust and diverse clientele. She credits the success of her business to the power of referrals and uses that as a testament to the importance of satisfying the customer.
Porsche’s extraordinary ability to cultivate relationships with her clients first, creates an ideal environment, allowing her to decide which approach she will use to complement the clients’ personal style. She believes that in addition to hair length, color and texture, personality and individual style are equally important to consider when creating a look. Thus far, her approach has been astoundingly successful. Although Porsche is trusted with creative control with many of her clients, her main goal is to ensure the satisfaction and beautification of each client.
Her artistry has afforded her the opportunity to travel the world. In addition to jet-setting, she has also had the pleasure of working with Mary J. Blige, Tyra Banks, Faith Evans, Fantasia, Teena Marie, Mo’Nique, Jojo, C. Vivian Stringer, Lala Anthony, Laila Ali, Katrina Adams, Summer Sanders, Ali Long, Lisa Leslie and even Condeleeza Rice. Though she enjoys styling celebrities, Porsche realizes that her salon clients are equally as important. “Everyone should have the opportunity to look good, have a great cut and style, because even though most of us aren’t famous, we are all stars,” she declares passionately. It is this personal philosophy which allows Ms.Waldo to continue to set the bar high for herself and for the beauty and hair industry.
